iPhone Duo – Apple’s First Foldable iPhone

When closed, iPhone Duo has a 5.4-inch outer display for calls, messages, navigation, and quick replies. Opening it reveals a 7.6-inch inner display – the largest ever offered on an iPhone.
Users can join a Zoom meeting while viewing a presentation, drag a photo into an email, or compare products in two Safari windows. Frequently used app pairs can be saved and reopened with one action.
Both displays support ProMotion and reach 3,000 nits of peak brightness. A nano-texture finish reduces glare and makes the inner screen’s crease less noticeable. The hinge lets the phone stand on a desk for video calls, films, guided workouts, or tripod-free recording. StandBy can show a clock, photos, and widgets even when the phone is not charging.
The titanium body has Ceramic Shield 2 on the outer display, Ceramic Shield on the back, and an IP68 rating.
How the Foldable Design Helps with Photography

The rear system includes 48MP main and ultra-wide cameras, with 2× optical-quality zoom from the main camera. The outer display houses a 12MP Center Stage camera, while a FaceTime camera is hidden beneath the inner display.
Duo Preview lets the subject check the frame on the outer screen. Users can also take selfies with the rear cameras while seeing themselves on the second display. Smart Take captures a photo when everyone is ready, Kid Cue uses animations to attract a child’s attention, and Duo FaceTime lets nearby people join a call through the outer display.
The main camera records 4K Dolby Vision video at up to 120 fps. Apple Pencil with USB-C support will arrive later in 2026 for notes, sketches, and document markup.
Performance and Battery Life

A20 Pro and vapour-chamber cooling help maintain performance during multitasking, video editing, gaming, and on-device AI workloads.
Apple claims up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display, up to 44 hours on the outer display, and up to 24 hours with mixed use. The phone charges to 50% in around 20 minutes.
Touch ID replaces Face ID. iPhone Duo uses eSIM only, so buyers should check operator support before purchasing.
The model suits people who work across several apps, regularly join video meetings, or want a large screen without carrying a tablet. For calls, messaging, and social media, the foldable format may not justify its high price.
iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max

After iPhone Duo, Apple returned to its familiar flagships. The main improvements concern professional imaging, sustained performance, and battery life.
Camera with Variable Aperture

The 48MP main camera now has a variable-aperture lens. It can admit more light in dark conditions or increase depth of field to keep people at different distances sharp in a group photo.
Pro Controls provide manual adjustment of aperture, shutter speed, and white balance, plus a histogram for checking exposure. This helps control motion blur, reproduce product colours accurately, and identify overexposed areas.
Apple Reference Image saves a protected reference frame for comparison with an edited photo. It may help journalists, photographers, and organisations verify an original image.
The ultra-wide and telephoto cameras also have 48MP resolution. The telephoto camera supports up to 8× optical-quality zoom for photographing a stage, sporting event, or distant detail. The 18MP Center Stage front camera widens the frame for groups and takes landscape selfies without rotating the phone.
Video recording reaches 4K Dolby Vision at 120 fps. Users can add a depth-of-field effect after recording, while Audio Mix can emphasise voices or music.
Faster During Sustained Workloads

A20 Pro and updated cooling help maintain speed during gaming, editing, and on-device AI tasks.
On eSIM-only versions, video playback reaches up to 36 hours on iPhone 18 Pro and up to 45 hours on Pro Max. A compatible 60W or higher adapter charges the battery to 50% in around 15 minutes.
The Pro models mainly benefit professional content creators and users with demanding workloads. Users who mostly shoot in automatic mode and share photos on social media may find that previous generations still meet their needs.
What iOS 27 and Siri AI Change
Siri AI can use onscreen information and data from messages, emails, photos, and notes. During a call with an airline, for example, it can find a booking number in an email or perform an action in an app.
Safari can report price drops and restocks, while Apple Intelligence tools can reframe photos and remove unwanted objects. Siri AI launches in beta in English first, so availability in Serbia should be checked separately.
