Mark Gurman directly links Apple’s first foldable iPhone to the September keynote:

According to Gurman, Apple is also preparing the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max alongside the foldable model. The two phones are expected to feature a next-generation processor, longer battery life, and upgraded cameras. The larger model may also feature a variable-aperture camera, allowing the amount of light reaching the sensor to be adjusted.

According to MacRumors, both models could use the A20 Pro processor.

Based on the available information, the foldable iPhone is expected to feature a book-style design. It would have an outer display for use when closed, while unfolding the device would reveal a tablet-sized inner display.

Names such as iPhone Fold and iPhone Ultra have appeared in reports, but Apple has not confirmed either of them. The company may only reveal the foldable model’s official name during the keynote.

Apple has confirmed its event for September 9, 2026. The livestream begins at 10:00 a.m. PT, or 7:00 p.m. in Serbia

The Apple Events page confirms the date and time and displays the event tagline Surprise and shine. The livestream will be available on Apple’s website and in the Apple TV app.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, also shared the announcement on X:

“Surprise and shine! It’s almost time for the #AppleEvent, on Wednesday, September 9!” — Greg Joswiak

Apple has not yet revealed which devices will be presented during the event. Expectations regarding its new products and their features are based on reports from journalists, analysts, and tech publications.

Apple Watch, AirPods, and Other Possible Announcements

Beyond the iPhone, Apple may introduce new Apple Watch models and AirPods. An updated Apple TV is expected later in 2026

The keynote may cover more than the new iPhone models. Apple could also introduce updated Apple Watch models and AirPods, as well as announce release dates for new versions of its operating systems.

According to reports from Mark Gurman and MacRumors, Apple may unveil the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 on September 9. Both models could receive faster processors and new health and fitness tracking capabilities.

The Apple Watch Series 12 is expected to offer longer battery life and may also be available with a ceramic case. Possible upgrades for the Apple Watch Ultra 4 include new satellite features, such as access to maps and messaging via satellite.

AirPods 5 could debut alongside the watches. Two versions are expected: a standard model and another with active noise cancellation. Camera-equipped AirPods are not expected to arrive before 2027.

During the keynote, Apple may also announce release dates for the final versions of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 Golden Gate, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, and tvOS 27. Major software updates usually become available shortly after the company’s September presentation.

Apple is also working on several devices that could launch before the end of 2026, Bloomberg reports. These include a smart home hub with a display, updated versions of the HomePod mini and Apple TV, and the next-generation iPad mini.

It remains unclear whether any of these devices will be unveiled on September 9. Apple often divides its fall announcements between September and October, so some products may be unveiled later.

How Much Will the iPhone Fold Cost?

A timeline running from September 2026 to spring 2027
Reports suggest that Apple may split the iPhone 18 rollout between fall 2026 and spring 2027

Apple has not yet announced prices, preorder dates, or shipping schedules for its new devices.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the foldable iPhone could follow the same pattern as the iPhone X: the device may be unveiled alongside the main lineup but go on sale at a later date. Limited production capacity at launch could be the reason for the delay.

Kuo estimates that the foldable iPhone could cost between $2,300 and $2,500. Apple has not confirmed this information, so the range should be treated only as a preliminary estimate.

Once preorders open, delivery times could extend to four to six weeks if demand exceeds the initial supply.

The standard iPhone 18, the next-generation iPhone Air, and another lower-priced model in the iPhone 18 lineup could arrive in spring 2027. Apple may introduce new Macs and iPads at the same time. If the reports prove accurate, the company would split the iPhone rollout between two seasons: the Pro models and the foldable smartphone would be unveiled in fall 2026, while the remaining models would follow in spring 2027.
